Posts Tagged Life updates
Randomness Indeed
I have been tagged by Kaysie to write six random things about me. I think I have done something like this before, but I’m sure I can muster up six more random facts about myself, since I am very random?
Anyway, here are the rules before I begin:
- Link to the person who tagged you.
Here is some of my randomness…
- I absolutely hate it when people finish a sentence with two (or four) exclamation points. It has to be one, three, or five (if it’s really awesome enough for five). It must never, ever, be an even number.
- I love reading books over and over again. Seriously, sometimes I’ll read a book, and then start right back at the beginning again. Because you never know, something might have changed since you went through it yesterday.
- I hate peanut butter and jelly. Ew. You take the already strange texture of bread, and put between it creamy peanut butter, and then layer that with slimy jelly. Ew ew ew.
- In spite of my weird food texture compulsion, I love soup. I try to justify it and say that have a liquid and solids together are not textures but rather different types of foods all together.
- I once worked at a blueberry plantation. I was responsible for quality control, which is a nice way to describe a sort of gross job. I was to take the containers of berries that were overweight, or underweight, and fix them, and then to clean up “smooshes.” Basically the machine that closed the containers of berries would close on top of a berry on the edge. It was my job to open the container and peel off the sad little dead blueberry, and then wipe away all the blueberry guts still on the container. Naturally this was a pretty dirty job, and your clothes ended up stained with blueberries for life. (It was a really fun job though!)
- I once started writing a novel. Now, before you say “aww, how neat, you should finish it!!!” (note the odd number of exlamation points), let me tell you about it. The heroine of the story was a little girl (I was little at the time) who was the most amazing and holy person because…just wait….she wore dresses to school, and not pants. (I was a wierd child ok?) Because of her awesomeness she was persecuted (with a skinned knee and writing assignment) and was so wimpy that after school she laid on the couch and everyone catered to her every whim. Siblings kept popping up everywhere in the story like popcorn in the microwave. Page 10 introduces a new one, and hmm, turn the page and there’s two more! I eventually dropped the idea because a) I was running out of room in the house, you can only fit so many people before it got insanely confusing, and b) my family and friends politely told me it was “cute.”
I was a random child as well.
Well, that was fun, hope it was fun to read! (one exclamation point…please note). I really can’t think of anyone to tag that wasn’t already tagged through the other bloggers I know who tagged them, and I’m really too tired to go think of anyone.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Much Too High a Price
I apologize for the lack of posting lately! My computer is currently infected with all sorts of ickyness (yes that is a word), and I haven’t been able to get to my documents. This week I’m off to have some much needed girltime. What’s in the works? Well, typical girl things of course. Swimming, pictures galore, make-overs ( oh boy, this could be interesting!), late nights, stargazing, laughing, tears, and more memories made than could ever be counted. Until next week, enjoy this song I stumbled across…the words are so haunting, and true.
“It’s crowded in worship today
As she slips in
Trying to fade into the faces
The girls’ teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know
But if we are the Body
Why aren’t His arms reaching
Why aren’t His hands healing
Why aren’t His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren’t His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
There is a way
A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat
And quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances tells him that his chances
Are better out on the road
But if we are the Body
Why aren’t His arms reaching
Why aren’t His hands healing
Why aren’t His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren’t His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the Body of Christ
If we are the body
Why aren’t His arms reaching
Why aren’t His hands healing
Why aren’t His words teaching
And if we are the body
Why aren’t His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
Jesus is the way

Random Life Happenings…
I’m sorry I haven’t kept up with the blogging these past two days. I’m not exactly sure if I’ll be posting everyday for sure, but I would definitely like too. I’ve been so busy this week, and when I did try to blog I could never figure out what I was trying to do! I’ve been trying to figure out how to post videos and stuff on here, but just have been completely out of time this week. Sunday night was the big tryout for the NLS….who knows what will happen with that? We were all going crazy tonight wondering if we would find out who made it, and then we didn’t find out. Oh well, God is definitely teaching me patience, something I need in great supply!!! Tonight was also our skit in S.O.W.ers (Students of the Word), our children’s program on Wednesday nights. I’m in charge of directing the skits, so this week has been full of last minute script printings, coordinating schedules, gathering music for the intros, and calling to make sure everyone was ready. I’m very happy with how it went tonight, everyone did a fantastic job, and the kids seemed to really understand it! That’s always the best part! Tomorrow will be filled with making copies of my dad’s sermon series on cd, to take to our meeting in a church on Sunday. I am playing at least three songs, and maybe five if I end up playing for offertories. YIKES!!!! Even though I have played the piano for twelve years I never am able to calm those butterflies. That’s when I can only think of my favorite verse that says ” My grace is sufficient for thee…” I cannot do things in my strength, I must do in God’s grace. Friday I also hope to enter a photo contest, so I will most likely be waiting up until 12:20 to enter it after the first of the month. (joy of joys!) February 9th is my first on my own photoshoot…an awesome friend is being brave and giving me full control! WOOHOO!!! Time for much experiment!
Well, I’m sorry for this rather rambling post. I have been praying about what to write about, and today God helped me start on one article, so I am excited about that! It might have to wait until Monday though… I hope everyone has an awesome week!
Rebekah
