About Me

My name is Rebekah. I live somewhere in the U.S.A. with my wonderful parents and my best brother-friend. I have a heavenly Father who loves me so much sometimes I can’t even understand it! He is my Prince, my knight in shining armor. I was saved at the age of 15, after spending a year in intense conviction! Shortly after I surrendered my life to Christ I went through some severe trials, and I am grateful to the Lord for holding me always in His hand. I began a new journey, a new walk with the Lord, and at the same time managed to begin a new journey of life. This blog gives you a glimpse of my life today.
A Little More About Me
I love taking long walks with friends, talking and drinking in the beautiful breeze. I love the ocean and twilight. I love pickles and Italian food. I am an amateur photographer, and have done odd jobs with photography. Spring is my favorite time of year. I love planting, growing flowers, digging my hands in the cool rich earth.
I have a wide variety of hobbies. They include playing the flute, piano, singing, painting, drawing, photography, talking on the phone, spending time with friends, and collecting music boxes. I love reading, and you could probably get me hooked on any new hobby. I love cooking but unfortunately I’m not the best at it. I would love to cut hair but my family seems afraid of me with scissors. I love children and babies. I have several adopted little sisters, and am always open to holding a baby. I’m pretty sure I’ll have at least 14 myself
I love an adventure. I’m the type who would jump in the car at a moments notice to go someplace new. I love traveling (aside from the fact I get terribly carsick). Every now and then I get “itchy” and since my family doesn’t want to move once a year I’m forced to resort to rearranging my furniture. I want to be a missionary someday, so I guess that will come in handy.
I could be described as gentle, yet full of life. I am the quiet one in the room, but at times I can be extremely hyper. Many times I’ll do something totally unexpected and my friends will just stare at me in amazement! I am definitely a listener, I could spend a whole evening just listening to what other people have to say.
A few of my favorite things: Skittles, the beach, pictures galore, pickles, dressing up, walking barefoot, singing at the top of my lungs, missions, beef (due to working two years at Chick-fil-A!), Texas, Chicago, Pennsylvania, Russia, Scotland, Uganda, Florida, flip-flops, sleeping in, having the best comeback, AWANA, my best friend, clean laundry scented candles, aqua, green and purple, French vanilla and mint tea, my brother’s ipod
, journaling, writing songs, and of course good times.
My family has seen me in the best of times, and in the worst of times. They have been with me through trials, through tears, and much laughter. They are all so special to me. I am grateful the Lord gave me such a wonderful family. They accept me just as I am, and love me no matter what. I will treasure them always.
My Dad.My dad is my protector. He guards my heart, waiting for just the right man to come along. He instructs me in the ways of the Lord. He is the head of our family’s ministry – Treasures of Truth. It is a preaching and teaching ministry. He has recently published a book entitled Facing the Sons of Thunder: biblical principles for conflict resolution.
My Mom.I am so thankful for my mom. I’ve spent so much time just one on one with my mum this year, and it’s been so wonderful. She teaches me to sing loud, to smile at strangers, to not be afraid, to simply trust. She’s become more like a best friend than a mom, and I am so happy to have such a wonderful mum. She’s so outgoing, and kind, and loving, and self-less, and she deserves so much. But that wouldn’t be my mom. She wouldn’t be happy having diamonds or pearls, she is happier just loving someone, just listening to someone’s heartcry. She has listened to me when I needed to talk. She has rubbed my back all through the night, calming my fear, drying my tears, and wishing for all the world she could heal my pain. She has such a kind heart for others.
My Brother. My brother Stephen is my best friend-brother. We were never close until a few years ago and now we stick together like peanut butter and glue. He has been there for me when I needed someone most. He gently corrects me when I’m wrong, and guides me in my walk with the Lord. He loves to rub it in when he’s right, and we are constantly picking on each other. We love it! We have so many memories together, from him slapping tortillas in my face, to getting lost in Atlanta for 3 hours, to me whacking him with a fake tree. He is a wonderful guy and I’m so lucky to have him at least until some luckier girl comes along. I love you Stephen!!!
You can contact me through a comment on my blog, or email me at onlyonelife4him@gmail.com. I would LOVE hearing from everyone who visits my blog! I pray that this blog is an encouragement in your walk with the Lord.
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

Hello Rebekah!
Your blog looks delightful and I look forward to reading more of it. I get so happy when I see young women standIng up for what they believe, and spreading the light and love of Christ to the world. May God bless you!

Are you familiar with Leslie Ludy and her husband Eric? Leslie has come out with a new book entitled “Set Apart Femininity.” You might want to check it out. Have you heard of her book, “Authentic Beauty?” You should read both.

I’ve just been exploring your blog, like a child on the seashore excitedly running from one bright object to another, finding each more beautiful than the one before.
I have so enjoyed coming to know you over the past few months. You are like a gorgeous flower, each day opening a bit more – yet there is more! You are beautiful inside and out.
Thank you for calling me your friend.
And yes, you inspire me to have my own blog. I’m afraid, though, that it could never possibly be as fresh and original as yours. Therefore I must resign myself to the realm of music and art, while leaving the world of blogging to the more natural maestro.

Hi Rebekah,
It was just how amazing the way i stumbled across your blog. Somehow I was going to start my own blog. 2 things inspired me when I was praying to God about it – I was singing the song with the lyrics “Take joy my King in what you hear” and my boss told me “To celebrate every milestone in life even if it was a small one”. Hence, I wanted to name my blog with the words “joy” and “pebbles” and wanted to check if anyone already had this blog name. Thus, I then stumbled upon yours and it had the same concept! At first I was rather upset, then my sister-in-law said it was amazing how someone across the world had a similar way of thinking. Then I read your blog further, and realised your name is the same as mine but spelt differently and you were also a follower of Christ. Some may find it freaky but I know it’s not a coincidence and still trying to ask God what’s the meaning behind this unusual incident because I’ve been praying for many months about my blog name. Now, I’m just really glad to know that someone else wants to bring joy to the world in the same way as me. May God continue to inspire you in your writings and your photography =)
Blessings,
Rebecca (from Singapore)
