A Line in the Sand

Both of these videos are very short, and it is well worth taking the time to watch. Please watch them in order.

For Christians the choice is simple.

“I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil… Therefore choose life.” ~ Deut. 30:15

A line is drawn in the sand…will you choose life?

Weep With Them That Weep

I promised myself that when I finally got back to blogging I would write a good, happy article. But I’ll just be honest with you, life is not always happy. Sometimes it is so far from happy I am at a loss for words.

In just a week I’ve received news of one friend’s heartbreak over the loss of a husband, news of another friend’s consequence to a bad decision, and then last night heard news of one of the worst things that can ever happen to a girl. I’m laying it out for you because, people, life is bad sometimes. Maybe your life is good, but life can just plain stink for others.

Last night I just crumbled, because I was so overwhelmed at the sorrow and suffering. It is one thing to hear about it when it happens to someone else. But these are my friends! These are people in my heart, who I care about and would do anything to protect and help. All I could do was cry to my Heavenly Father. I cried out with a “why God?!” Why does life have to be so bad for some? Why does this hurt and sorrow exist? I know ultimately it exists because of Adam’s choice, sin.

I think in times like these there are no answers. There are no magic formulas to make it all better. There are no perfect words to say. My only choice is to:

 ”Weep with them that weep.”

The rest of the verse is “Rejoice with them that do rejoice.” So right now that means I can rejoice that God knows all that’s going on. I can rejoice that each life is precious. I can rejoice that my friend’s life was spared. I can rejoice that one day, in Heaven, all will be made whole and beautiful again.

Weep {v.} – to weep for (someone or something); mourn with tears or other expression of sorrow

Rejoice {v.} – to be glad; take delight

Josh Duggar Wedding Pictures

Many families in different Christian circles were so excited about the Duggar wedding. You might have heard of the Duggars, they are that family with 17 kids, and they have their own reality tv show on the TLC/Discovery Health Channel. I was excited about the wedding too. But for different reasons. The reason is that it wasn’t just some average girl marrying Josh Duggar. My best friend became Mrs. Josh Duggar on 9.26.08. :) God is good, and the wedding was beautiful! Many friends have asked to see the pictures, so without further ado, The Duggar wedding!

The crane for the camera crews was all decorated too. :)

The camera guys were really close!

Joshua sang to Anna, it was so sweet!

The First Kiss

Her sister just kept snapping away, and got some really sweet shots :)

Randomness Indeed

I have been tagged by Kaysie to write six random things about me. I think I have done something like this before, but I’m sure I can muster up six more random facts about myself, since I am very random?

Anyway, here are the rules before I begin:

  • Link to the person who tagged you.
  • Post the rules on your blog.
  • Write six random things about yourself.
  • Tag sixish people at the end of your post.
  • Let each person know he or she has been tagged.
  • Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

Here is some of my randomness…

    1. I absolutely hate it when people finish a sentence with two (or four) exclamation points. It has to be one, three, or five (if it’s really awesome enough for five). It must never, ever, be an even number.
    2. I love reading books over and over again. Seriously, sometimes I’ll read a book, and then start right back at the beginning again. Because you never know, something might have changed since you went through it yesterday. :)
    3. I hate peanut butter and jelly. Ew. You take the already strange texture of bread, and put between it creamy peanut butter, and then layer that with slimy jelly. Ew ew ew.
    4. In spite of my weird food texture compulsion, I love soup. I try to justify it and say that have a liquid and solids together are not textures but rather different types of foods all together. 8)
    5. I once worked at a blueberry plantation. I was responsible for quality control, which is a nice way to describe a sort of gross job. I was to take the containers of berries that were overweight, or underweight, and fix them, and then to clean up “smooshes.” Basically the machine that closed the containers of berries would close on top of a berry on the edge. It was my job to open the container and peel off the sad little dead blueberry, and then wipe away all the blueberry guts still on the container. Naturally this was a pretty dirty job, and your clothes ended up stained with blueberries for life. (It was a really fun job though!)
    6. I once started writing a novel. Now, before you say “aww, how neat, you should finish it!!!” (note the odd number of exlamation points), let me tell you about it. The heroine of the story was a little girl (I was little at the time) who was the most amazing and holy person because…just wait….she wore dresses to school, and not pants. (I was a wierd child ok?) Because of her awesomeness she was persecuted (with a skinned knee and writing assignment) and was so wimpy that after school she laid on the couch and everyone catered to her every whim. Siblings kept popping up everywhere in the story like popcorn in the microwave. Page 10 introduces a new one, and hmm, turn the page and there’s two more! I eventually dropped the idea because a) I was running out of room in the house, you can only fit so many people before it got insanely confusing, and b) my family and friends politely told me it was “cute.” :) I was a random child as well.

Well, that was fun, hope it was fun to read! (one exclamation point…please note). I really can’t think of anyone to tag that wasn’t already tagged through the other bloggers I know who tagged them, and I’m really too tired to go think of anyone. :) Have a wonderful Wednesday!
