Birthday Moments
Thursday was my birthday! Despite some sniffles and a twisted ankle (how did that happen!?) it was a good day. Wednesday night we went out to celebrate with all my friends. Yesterday was a family day and we celebrated by getting dinner and watching a movie. My friend Tiffany took me out on a suprise outing to go get ice cream. We had an awesome time talking about life’s many challenges.
Here are some pictures from Wednesday night. More to come from our sleepover tonight!
My birthday flower :)
My birthday cakes that the wonderful Tiffany made!
The amazing Hannah. (She’ll probably kill me because she didn’t like the picture, but it happens to be the only one we have together so it stays.)
Ice cream time!!!!

Oh Joy
Joy of joys. I am sick. Again. The day before my birthday.
Life is so tragic.
But we’ll make the most of it!

A Picture Post
I’ve been going through my 10,000 plus pictures trying to delete some, save space, organize etc, and it’s amazing the things you find. Normally when I go through a certain batch of pictures I like certain ones right away, but as I looked at this folder for the third or so time I saw new favorites. Here are some that I took during our snow day. Being a Florida girl I’ve never seen snow, so that day was only the second time I’d ever seen the stuff. It was so much fun and my poor camera was all frozen after a long day out in the elements.

~Proverbs 26:1
“As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.”
~Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
~Isaiah 55:9-11
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

My Portion
Whatsoever Thou sayest unto me, by thy grace I will do it.My Constraint:
Thy love, O Christ, my Lord.My Confidence:
Thou art able to keep that which I have committed unto Thee
My Joy:
To do Thy will, O God.
My Discipline:
That which I would not choose, but that which Thy love appoints.
My Prayer:
Conform my will to Thine.
My Motto:
Love to live, live to love.
The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance.
“Teach us good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest; to give and not to count the cost; to fight and not to heed the wounds; to toil and not to seek for rest; to labor and not to ask for any reward save that of knowing that we do Thy will, O Lord our God.”

Attitude of Faith ~ Scripture Focus 2008
“…thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgot prosperity. And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD…My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him…For the LORD will not cast off for ever: But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth. To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High, To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approveth not. Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?…Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens…Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission. Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven…I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon. Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry. Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not. O LORD, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.”

Don’t Wait
Dream about tomorrow, but live for today.
To live a little, you’ve got to love a whole lot.
Love turns the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Life’s a journey always worth taking.
Take time to smell the roses…and tulips…
and daffodils…and lilacs…and sunflowers…
The secret of a happy life isn’t buried in
a treasure chest…it lies within your heart.
It’s the little moments that make life big.

My Quote Book
I have been trying to decide what to post as “lite” posts. I finally pulled out my trusty quote book. No, it’s not a book that you buy at the local Christian bookstore full of inspirational quotes by Billy Graham, it’s a big beautiful, somewhat-blank book in which I write my favorite quotes. And not quotes of me saying things, because that would just be wacky. ;) No, I take quotes from here, from there, songs, verses, poems, anything that inspires, convicts, or encourages my heart. My beautiful “little sis” (who is not so little anymore) gave this quote to me right after I moved away. It helped me so much at the time, and it continues to be a big encouragement today!
So why should we complain.
We always want the sunshine
But He knows there must be rain.
We love the sound of laughter and
the merriment of cheer,
But our hearts would loose their tenderness,
If we never shed a tear.
For our Father loves His children,
and to Him all things are plain
So He never sends us pleasures
when the soul’s deep need is pain.
So whenever we are troubled
And when everything goes wrong,
It is just God working in us
To make our spirit strong.”

Taking a Breath
Hey, I just wanted to let everyone know that blogging will be a little “lite” this week. I need to regain my strength and try not to do too much. I will be praying about what to write for the next few weeks. Hopefully I will be back with a lot of fresh articles and concrete plans for this blog. I will try to post a little something every day or so. That way you won’t be all WHERE IS THIS BLOG WOMAN????
Ecclesiastes 3:1-12
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth…
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”
Be back soon!
